The Grain Rain of 2025, one of the 24 solar terms in China, marks the 16th International Chinese Language Day designated by the United Nations. This year also commemorates the 35th anniversary of the launch of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK). HSK is an international standardized Chinese test sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education and globally operated and promoted by Chinese Testing International Co., Ltd.(CTI). HSK scores have become essential proof for international students applying for admission, graduation, and scholarships in China, and can be used as points for foreigners to apply for work visas in China. Currently, global learners can take the HSK test at 1,416 test centers across 166 countries to achieve their Chinese language dreams.
Facing the global wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, Chinese, as a world language carrying millennia of civilization, serves both as a bridge for cross-cultural communication and a cognitive tool for understanding the future world. To celebrate the 2025 International Chinese Language Day, explore the innovative development of the Chinese language in the digital era, and enable global Chinese learners to embrace future opportunities, CTI together with Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center, FUDAN-CTI Innovation Center for International Chinese Education and Testing, various educational institutions, schools, and HSK test centers to organize the "Sharing a Smart Future through HSK" Chinese Short Video Competition. This event aims to establish a collaborative platform for Chinese enthusiasts in China and abroad, empowering individuals to seize technological opportunities, promoting the building of an open and inclusive community with a shared future for mankind through the commonalities of language, diverse civilizations, and scientific technology, and ultimately contributing to a sustainable digital civilization.
